Liner Installations
Why is a Liner Needed?
A liner is the solution for many issues within a chimney, including aging/deterioration, construction defects, chimneys with no terracotta liner, and to remediate safety issues and concerns. Modern heating appliances also require liners.

More About Liner Installs
Liners are a solution for many things, however, here are still a few things to consider.
-
Liners are not a repair for a chimney that is too short.
-
Liners MUST be installed in a chimney that has a structural nominal thickness of at least 4 inches.
-
Liners for solid fuel burning MUST be insulated.
-
Flue sizing still comes into play with liner installs and depends on factors such as the fireplace opening height/width and the length of the flue.
-
Installing a new liner may mean the removal of the old terracotta tile liner in order to make an appropriately sized cavity
