Repairs / Restorations
We offer many choices in the area of fireplace restorations. It is our mission to ensure complete safety with any type of repair or restoration, and field circumstances will dictate the best possible options. Below, please find several options we use for fireplace repairs and restorations.
The AHREN FIRE fireplace retrofit restoration system is a UL-listed solution allowing the repair and restoration of wood-burning fireplaces where otherwise, code repairs would be possible. The AHREN FIRE's highlights include: Zero clearance ratings with 4" of masonry, a 50% reduction in flue size, and fireplace depth flexibility. This is an efficient, open-burn wood fireplace system that provides HEAT instead of stealing heat from your home like a traditional fireplace.
This method employs standard methods for fireplace repair when codes and standards can be met with the existing conditions. Traditional firebrick fireboxes are commonplace with this style of repair. Throat dampers are typically replaced with an efficient top sealing damper and as always, the fireplace flue liner is insulated as required by manufacturer's installation instructions.
We carry a wide line of fuel-burning inserts in all three fuels; wood, gas, and pellet. On many occasions, our recommendation for a fuel-burning insert is due to a condition with a fireplace that cannot be repaired through standard restorations. Many people choose a fuel-burning insert as an alternative heat source to supplement their current home heating costs.
Our repair knowledge comes from years of training and experience. We perform every type of chimney repair from brick rebuilding to new chimney construction. We are equipped with scaffolds to navigate the most challenging roofs or areas of a home. We do our best to match existing materials.
Factory-built fireplaces have a life expectancy of 25-30 years. Once these systems become damaged or worn, replacement is necessary. This process can be done without major construction in most cases and presents an opportunity to the homeowner to upgrade the fireplace facing and overall appearance of their appliance. This is also the opportunity for some to upgrade to an efficient burning appliance replacing the old inefficient fireplace.
Ryan and Son Chimneys is pleased to be your source for new appliances; fireplaces, wood stoves, fireplace inserts, gas stoves, pellets stoves, etc. Please check out our line of appliances. Did you know- fireplaces can be simply added to the home? This ads property value, ambiance, and atmosphere. Ask us how.
