Standard Fireplace Resorations

Sometimes, inserts or full replacements are not necessary to get your fireplace back in a safe working condition. Based on a Level 2 inspection, we can determine if you only need a reline and chamber parge, and/or a new firebox or firebox repair.

Relining a flue

We can correct a number of issues in a chimney by relining a flue. Improper flue sizing, poor draft, deteriorated flue tiles, poor clearance to combustibles, and more can be remedied by installing an insulated liner. If you have terracotta flue tiles, our inspection will help determine if the flue tiles need to be removed before a new liner installation. We can also determine whether you've had an improper liner installation in the past, remove it, and replace it.

Parging a Chamber
Repairing a Firebox

Chambers are often constructed poorly, with ledges and corners that cause unwanted turbulence. This leads to quicker build-up and causes safety concerns. Chamber-Tech 2000 is used to reform a chamber, eliminating the ledges and corners often present when chambers are built with brick. This vastly reduces turbulence and improves draft.

Deteriorating fireboxes are caused by many factors, but can be repaired very easily. From spot repairs to full rip-out and replacements, repairing the firebox can improve performance and provide a nicer look to the main focal point of your fireplace. The firebox should be constructed with firebrick, and our newly constructed, full fireboxes are backfilled with a fireproof granule poured insulation.
this helps absorb and reflect heat as well as provide extra protection behind and to the sides of your fireplace.
